Middlewich Roman Festival
Historical Promotions and Event Management was contracted by Middlewich Town Council in 2007 to organise a Roman Festival to promote the heritage of the town, as part of a continuing regeneration and investment programme in the area over the past ten years.
The event helped to renew a sense of civic and community pride in the town and the festival proved to be the most stimulating, interactive and successful event to date with over 20,000 visitors attending the weekend. The Roman Festival brought together an extensive and diverse series of period activities including Gladiatorial combat displays and Legionary demonstrations, Roman Cavalry and artillery displays, falconry and Roman dog hunting, religious ceremonies, iron working, spinning, coin making, Iron Age children’s workshops and activities and a host of other period demonstrations for the event.
"Thank you for organising a very successful event, we have received many compliments on the arena displays and demonstrators at the show...thank you for a great weekend."
