Kettering World of History

A World of History Fayre was conceived and organised for Kettering Borough Councils, Manor House Museum and Art Gallery in 2007 as part of the museums annual event programme organised each year by Historical Promotions and Event Management. The day at the museum featured a series of multi-period demonstrations, displays and entertainment that spanned 1,000 years of history, but focused on two key aspects of world history; the 400th Anniversary of Jamestown, USA in 1607 and the Bi-centenary of the Abolition of Slavery in 1807.

TThe day at the museum featured encampments, cameos, plays, music, storytelling, demonstrations, drills and arena presentations of Saxons and Vikings, The Crusades, Medieval knights, 16th Century Samurai, 17th Century Colonials, 18th Century Maritime, American Civil War, World War I and World War II periods.

The event at the museum won two highly coveted awards from the Renaissance Heritage Awards:
